22 Weeks... and Growing!

We had our 22 week doctors appointment today and got the results from our blood tests and fetal anatomy ultrasound and everything looks good!  Our lil' man is where he should be and his heartbeat - which is music to our ears is perfect.  The only thing left to check is one more blood test to measure sugar levels and then we're all set!

The belly is definitely growing more and more everyday and getting heavy... not to mention, has now become a magnet for everyone at work to rub.  Our little one's movements are continuing to get stronger and stronger and its so fun watching my belly move each time he does!

Baby Showers and Birthdays!

February 20 - 21st

We had another busy weekend.  On Saturday, we drove up to Irvine for Mike's cousin Suzie's baby shower at his Aunt and Uncle's place.  It was a girl-only invite so Mike and his Uncle went to Suzie's to hang out with her husband.  Her sister Leslie, and mom Sharon, did a wonderful job with organizing everything and had neat projects like creating a birthday card for the year you select... and tie-dye onesies!  The treats they served were a variety of cheeses, breads, deli meats, and fruits soaking in wine - unfortunately most of things I can't eat right now because of food pregnancy restrictions but it all looked delicious!  I was able to treat myself to a cupcake and that was yummy!

On Sunday the 21st, we went to Oceanside Harbor to celebrate Mike Kenney's 35th birthday at Rockin' Baja Lobster with a few of their friends and as always... had a great time! Happy Birthday Mike Kenney!

For our present... I created a clothes line and bought some clothes pins to display all the cute little things babies need - onesies, bibs, wash cloths, bath towels, socks, sunshades, and teethers - she loved it!

Baby Bump...21 Weeks

We are at 21 weeks today!  The baby is estimated to be the length of a carrot or banana and his movements are starting to feel like he's practicing martial arts as they get stronger and stronger.     

I thought about wearing my usual green shirt like I wore for our 18th and 19th week pictures to keep track of the difference but wanted a little color variety so we switched to purple!

Crib Time!

February 13th - February 15th... Presidents Day Weekend

We had a very busy weekend!  On Saturday we went to a family friend's baby shower.  Destree, the mommy-to-be gave me a good idea of how big my bump will be in about 2 months!  After the baby shower, we went to Parkhouse Eatery to have dinner with Joanna and Bartek for an "early" Valentines Day celebration.

On Sunday - it was baby day!  We went to my parents house and took a trip to the the naval base to look their baby options and found a "Daddy-Baby-Backpack" for Mike and the crib decor we really liked to match our theme - "Monkeys!"  We also completed our first registry at Target and purchased the crib we wanted -thanks Mom & Dad.  When we got home, Mike was eager to put it together and did such a great job - I'm so proud!  We both had President's Day off and did our weekly neighborhood walk to Robeks for some smoothies for breakfast and enjoyed the day relaxing and preparing for the week.

 

  

  

    

20 Weeks... Half Way There!

We are at 20 weeks today - half way there!  The baby is now the size of a cantaloupe and can tastes the things I eat. We celebrated by going to dinner at one of our favorites - Sushi Deli.  It's amazing how fast it's going and so exciting to see the weekly transformation.  Mike felt the baby moving yesterday and it was so neat to share that experience with him.  The belly is definitely growing and the back-pain is in full force... But each little kick and movement I feel makes it all worthwhile!

Superbowl Sunday - Saints vs. Colts

We had the Kenney family and Scoopes over for Superbowl Sunday.  We had BBQ ribs and tri-tip steak and pizza and the Kenney's brought this delicious buffalo chicken and cheese dip, salad and corn bread.... MmmmmM!!  Nothing better than yummy food to go along with great company and a great game!  Go Saints!!!

Birthday and Retirement Celebration!

February 6th, 2010

Since Dad's actual birthday fell on a Thursday this year, we celebrated his 60th birthday and retirement party on Saturday which is Scoopes' and my birthday!  We had his side of the family come down from LA to have lunch at the house and the invited everyone to the Great Plaza Buffet in PB to celebrate with some close family-friends and some of his former co-workers!

Happy 60th Birthday Dad!

Dad Bautista's birthday is on February 4th so the girls and I went to the house to visit for a small celebration since we would be throwing him a bigger party on Saturday.  We picked up some Chinese food from one of our favorite places and had some yummy ice cream cake for dessert!  Happy 60th Dad!

 

  

  

  

 

Fetal Anatomy Ultrasound Appointment

February 1, 2010

Mike and I had our 18-week, 6-day Fetal Anatomy Ultrasound appointment today and they confirmed that the 4-D ultrasound we did at 15-weeks was correct - we're having a BOY!  Our little guy was very cooperative during the anatomy exam as they took pictures of his heart, arms, legs, spine, stomach and measured the size of his head.  We also got to see him open and close his mouth, move his hands, and kick near my bladder - probably because it was taking up so much of his space since they ask that you drink 20 ounces of water an hour before to put the baby in a better position for pictures!  Baby Bridges measures about 7 inches long and weighs 11 ounces!

Another Engagement Party...

We celebrated Mike's friends, Sam and Fontaine's engagement on Sunday.  They have been together for 6 years and began their love story at Rock Bottom... a common meeting place for a lot of love birds!  Congratulations again - wishing you the best!
